I do not understand life yet but I know I will eventually. All I knew is for some reason I needed to get back outside on to the road, was it something inside me that thought that the person who had abandoned me was on his way back to collect me. I ran to the metal bars and barked as loud as possible. One of the people opened the metal bars and I ran outside and waited, nothing came, I was stupid to believe that the person who had left me would return, what am I going to do now? I cannot keep going back to the nice people; they would not fall for it again. I decided to wait outside and see what happens. The day went dark again; afraid on my own I went around the wall again and slept in the same place for a second night.

The night went light, I heard the metal bars opened and the man person came out in his tin with wheels, he waited for the metal bars to close and then he started to go. I frantically ran after him barking my loudest, trying to get his attention. I ran after him for a while then I stopped near a place where the road goes two ways, which way did he go, I had lost him. Oh why did I not sniff of the wheel thing?

I walked up the road and found another house, these people also had dog’s but I was forced away so I went to the next house and the next but time after time I was forced away. Why does nobody want me I can be a good dog, I know I can be a handful but I can be good. Scared and alone I found somewhere to hide away from the nasty people who did not like me.

The dark came I had a fitful sleep. I kept waking up hearing strange noises and other dogs barking. Light came again, I walked from house to house as I had done time after time I was forced away. Tired and hungry I found a safe place to lie down and rest I tried to think but I was so hungry my stomach was crying, what I was going to do! Finally I slept. The next light came I had decided to try to find the nice people’s house again. I walked and walked for hours, for what seemed to be miles and miles, finally I found it. I stood at the metal bars and barked and barked. When they came out I could not help it I started to cry, it was so good to be back. After they opened the bars to let me in, I ran to them, they stroked me and made me feel safe, they gave me food and fresh water. I was never leaving here again. I had learnt my lesson, this was my second chance I was not about to blow it. I would be the best dog in the world.
